Tuesday 5th November 2024, London, UK / New York, USA: Club Águilas has today announced its launch as the padel world’s first ever curated club of clubs. As the discerning traveller’s guide for the world’s fastest-growing sport, Club Águilas will feature the world’s finest padel establishments, comprising the best resorts and clubs from across the established and new padel worlds.
Club Águilas is being billed as ‘The Michelin Guide of Padel’s Clubs’, with its carefully curated selection of padel destinations reviewed and awarded Águilas status by its team of padel pioneers. With the number of luxurious padel resorts and clubs growing rapidly worldwide, Club Águilas will ensure that only the select few destinations that define the highest standards of luxury, service and style, and embody the purest padel experience, will be awarded Águilas membership.
The company is the creation of Ben Nichols, and his Co-Founder, an individual who boasts three decades’ experience at the world’s leading fashion, design and luxury brands and who, today, leads the padel world’s most premium, distinct apparel label (and who, for now at least, will remain confidential).
Nichols is best known as Founder CEO of Padel 22, the leading Communications Consultancy for the New Padel World. He is also involved in several other projects in the sport, including a role as Head of International Communications for Hexagon Cup and as Co-Founder of Cage 91 Co.
Both Nichols and his Co-Founder have enjoyed international careers, living and working in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, the UAE and the UK, which has undoubtedly acted as a catalyst for their shared interest in travel and padel. They are also joined by Club Aguilas’ Content Manager, Hal Hornby, an entrepreneurial student pioneer in his own right having recently become Founding President of the esteemed Durham University Padel Club in the United Kingdom.
Club Águilas Co-Founder, Ben Nichols, said: “This is an exciting moment for a sport that is fast becoming synonymous with lifestyle and luxury travel. In my, and my Co-Founder’s, our own individual travels in this emerging global industry, we have been fortunate enough to visit some truly unique padel destinations, each of which have their own individual charm. We have noticed the passion that exists for this sport, and the unique symmetry that exists between padel and travel, and felt there was a need to bring together the world’s elite establishments under one guide.
"From the harbourside courts with the downtown vista, to the minimalist, pastel colour-adorned desert hideaway, and from the former urban wasteland industrial warehouse hipster conversion to the impossibly laidback hippy pottery-meets-padel hideaway, as members of Club Aguilas, the one-of-a-kind properties our team chooses will always be anti-chain, and anti-same-same. That is what it means to be part of Club Aguilas,” they added.
As part of today’s launch, Club Águilas has selected an initial 16 establishments to feature in its online guide, and in doing so these clubs and resorts are awarded their “Eagles Wings”; the international symbol of international padel luxury, along with automatically becoming Águilas members.
The first 16 clubs and resorts to receive their "Eagles Wings" are: Andermatt (Switzerland), Beaverbrook (London, UK), Brisas (New York, USA), COMO Castello Del Nero (Tuscany, Italy), Emirates Golf Club - Viya Padel (Dubai, UAE), Matcha Club (Dubai, UAE), NIHI Sumba (Sumba Island, Indonesia), Nueva Alcántara Club (Málaga, Spain), Padel Šolta (Šolta, Croatia), Padel Social Club (London, UK), Sóller Tennis Club (Mallorca, Spain), St. Regis Red Sea (Saudi Arabia), Tennis & Padel Club d'Eze (Eze, Provence, France), The Club by Bamford (The Cotswolds, UK), The Reserve Seaplane (Miami, USA) and Velaa Resort (Maldives).
By adding new clubs and resorts at its choosing, Club Águilas sets out to showcase the unique chemistry that is created when you combine the sport of padel with the most impossibly desirable venues. The results are a selection of clubs which make up the world’s elite, padel clubs with distinction that define the highest standards of luxury, service and style. Places that embody the purest padel experience.
The clubs and resorts have been personally selected and reviewed by the Club Águilas Committee. On appointment, the chosen clubs and resorts receive their “Eagles Wings”; the international symbol of international padel luxury.
New clubs and resorts will be added in time.
