NEW PREMIUM 10-COURT CLUB TO OPEN IN SCOTLAND’S BIGGEST CITY IN JANUARY
NEWS OF IMPENDING GLASGOW CLUB OPENING MARKS SECOND MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PURE PADEL IN DAYS, WITH CENTRAL BIRMINGHAM VENUE TO ALSO OPEN IN JANUARY
Tuesday 7th October 2025: The UK’s fastest-growing padel club operator, Pure Padel, has confirmed plans for its new club in Glasgow, with planning already submitted and the venue due to open in January 2026. The 10-court club will be Pure Padel’s largest to date, and will be located in the 40,000 sq ft former Cineworld at The Forge Retail Park, providing a central and highly accessible location for players across Scotland’s largest city.
The state-of-the-art venue will feature 10 indoor padel courts, including a competition court, making it Glasgow’s largest and first indoor padel facility. The club will also include vibrant food and beverage spaces, social areas, and fully equipped changing rooms, creating a premium destination for both recreational players and competitive events.
Glasgow has a rich history of racket sports, and Pure Padel aims to meet the growing demand for high-quality sports facilities in the area. The venue will offer year-round play, providing a unique opportunity for players to enjoy padel regardless of weather conditions.
Sammy Arora, Founder and Managing Director of Pure Padel, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our biggest club yet in Glasgow. To open our first venue in Scotland - and in the fourth biggest city in the UK - is a statement of intent for where we are headed. Glasgow has a strong history of racket sports, and we’re excited to bring padel to the city and serve the huge demand we’ve witnessed across Scotland. This is a landmark project for Pure Padel, and we can’t wait to welcome the local community to play, train, and compete. With Glasgow and Birmingham announced, we are on track to becoming the UK’s largest premium operator–we’re excited to grow the sport the right way in the UK in the years ahead.”
Pure Padel has become a dominant force on the UK sporting scene ever since the opening of its first club in Alderley Park (3 outdoor courts) in October 2023. In the two years since, the company, led by ambitious entrepreneur Sammy Arora, has opened its flagship indoor club in Manchester City Centre, followed by Darlington (7 indoor courts), Stockport (5 indoor courts) and North Leeds (4 outdoor courts). Construction is also in advanced stages with its Nottingham venue (opening in October) and Lightwater (opening in February 2026).
By the end of 2025, the company’s rapid growth will take Pure Padel to a 33-court padel operator and on the verge of becoming the largest operator in the UK. Further to this, planning is also approved for additional clubs in Solihull, Gosforth, York and Surrey, with all four locations expected to open by June 2026.
Pure Padel’s soon-to-be-launched Glasgow site will be a flagship venue, providing opportunities for corporate events, competitions, and community engagement. The club is part of Pure Padel’s ambitious expansion across the UK, which currently includes five operational clubs and ten more planned across Scotland, England, and the Midlands.
Highly experienced and qualified LTA coaches will be available for coaching to all levels, from beginners to intermediate and advanced players, ensuring a holistic padel experience for the Glasgow community.
Pure Padel has demonstrated its success and ambition through its more than 13,000 players and status as the first padel club in the North West to operate multi-site facilities. The business has plans to build another 30 padel clubs in the UK over the next five years. Meanwhile, Pure Padel Darlington, Stockport, Birmingham, and Solihull are currently under construction or scheduled to open in the coming months.
Pure Padel is equipped with backing from a strong selection of non-exec board members from retail, property, finance and law and have accumulated various sources of investment.
