Tech-enabled padel club concept adds fitness industry veteran as it raises seed round and prepares to open first U.S. location
Miami, Florida, December 11, 2025: No Strings Inc., a Miami-based padel club company combining competitive play, social programming, and player engagement technology, has appointed Joey Gonzalez, Executive Chairman of Barry's Bootcamp, to its Advisory Board as the company approaches the close of its seed funding round and prepares to open its first location in 2026.
Gonzalez, who served as CEO of Barry's from 2015 until earlier this year before transitioning to Executive Chairman, led the boutique fitness brand's expansion from 10 to more than 80 locations worldwide. At No Strings, he will advise on brand development, operational scaling, and consumer experience strategy.
The appointment comes as padel enters a period of rapid expansion in the United States. Currently concentrated in Miami, Texas, and Southern California, the sport is expected to accelerate significantly through 2027 and beyond, with the U.S. positioned to become one of the world's largest padel markets.
"Living in Miami, I've watched padel explode onto the scene—once people try it, they're hooked," said Gonzalez. "What draws me to the sport is how it brings people together. No Strings is going to redefine how people experience padel by combining world-class technology with the social and competitive energy that builds real community, and I'm confident my experience in group fitness can help shape that customer experience."
No Strings is developing proprietary technology that makes padel more accessible, more social, and more competitive. In October this year, the start-up announced an exclusive partnership with social competition platform Lucra to embed rewards and peer-to-peer challenge functionality directly into its tech ecosystem and customer journey.

"His guidance will help us build a connected padel community and bring our concept to life at scale."
