MEDIA NOTICE
London, UK | Monday 19 January 2025
Padel 22 will host the first edition of a new invite-only media briefing series, The Padel 22 Media Sessions, in London on 24 March, created to help journalists better understand and navigate the fast-evolving world of padel.
The London session will take place at Padium, Canary Wharf, and will bring together a small group of invited media for informal discussion, breakout interviews and practical insight from some of the most informed voices across the sport. The aim is to demystify the padel landscape, from professional and commercial structures to culture, community and participation, and leave media with clearer context and sharper story angles.
Across the session, Padel 22 will convene mainstream media, athletes, organisers and thinkers from across the sport for candid discussion, short interviews, and the release of new data on the sport. The session will also include the opportunity to get on court, play the sport, and receive coaching and insight from a Padium coach.
Founder of Padel 22, Ben Nichols, said:
“Padel now has more than 50,000 courts worldwide and an industry value expected to exceed $6.6 billion, yet understanding of how the sport actually works has not kept pace with its growth. Journalists are seeing padel everywhere, from celebrity culture to new clubs opening weekly, but the wider picture can still feel fragmented. These sessions are designed to help media make sense of that landscape and come away with clearer context, credible voices and usable story angles.”

Topics at the London session are expected to include:
· The current state of padel in the UK and what happens next
· Where the professional game currently sits, and how close padel may be to achieving Olympic status
· The crossover between padel, celebrity culture and mainstream sport
· How clubs are reshaping participation and community sport
The session will be hosted by Padel 22 Founder Ben Nichols and UK Head of PR Chris Eldergill, with guest contributors to be confirmed closer to the event.
Further editions of The Padel 22 Media Sessions are planned in the United States and other emerging padel markets later in 2026.
